WhatsApp is working on these two new features, spots in the latest beta testing
The Community tab is a shortcut to the "Community Home" feature, which is currently in the works. Community is likely to have end-to-end encrypted private space that will allow group admins to have better control over their group
WhatsApp keeps adding new features to improve the user experience on its platform. In the latest such development, it has been found that the company is now working on a new community tab for its app. The app's feature tracker, WABetaInfo, had revealed that the company is working on a feature that will allow feature group administrators to add a specific group to a "community". These groups will then be listed together under the Community tab. WABetaInfo reports that the messaging platform is currently developing a community tab feature. This feature has been spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.6.
While the feature is not yet rolled out, the feature tracker has shared a screenshot which shows the community tab icon. The new icon replaces the camera icon which is present in the current version. The Community tab is said to be a shortcut to the “Community Home” feature, which is currently in the works. The community is likely to have end-to-end encrypted private space that will allow group admins to have better control over their group.
new voice note feature will come in whatsapp
Apart from this, WhatsApp has introduced a new feature in its latest beta version. This feature allows beta testers on Android to pause and resume voice recordings, according to the tracker. Android users who are currently signed up for the beta version of WhatsApp can update to version 2.22.6.9 to experience the new feature. It is worth noting that the latest version shows voice waveforms while recording voice notes.
WhatsApp hasn't started testing the community feature yet. Whenever this happens, beta testers will be able to use it before watching the full rollout. WhatsApp has not yet given any information about this feature, so it cannot be said when this feature will be available for public use. That said, the voice recording pause and resume feature should be rolling out soon, as it is already in beta testing.
