The 12,000 hp engine manufactured from Madhepura railway plant is now running within the country.  Today, on May 19, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal took a tweet and expressed happiness on this and said what else may be an improved example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Make in India.  With this, India has joined the list of states including Russia, China, Germany and Sweden which have electric rail engines with a capacity of 12,000 HP or more.  Currently, Indian Railways has the best capacity 6,000 hp rail engine.  This engine was dedicated to the country by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2018.
 Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted - This rail engine built at Madhepura factory in Bihar of 12000 HP capacity is realizing the vision of Prime Minister's Make in India.  This has not only accelerated the wheels of Indian Railways, but also reduced the price of freight.  this can reduce costs and increase profits.  Today when the engine came out from Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay station of Mughalsarai in state, the view was worth seeing.
 The 12 thousand horsepower engine is that the most powerful engine within the country which can double the speed of the rattler.  This engine are going to be ready to haul cargo up to nine thousand tons.  Rail engine factory built at a value of 20 thousand crores will give the primary engine to the country.  Indian Railways had entered into an agreement with Alstom Company of France.  The agreement under which this powerful engine are often pulled into goods trains with the identical speed altogether seasons.  Therefore, its cataphract was brought from France in September 2017 itself.
 Currently, Indian Railways uses WAG-9 engines in its trains for freight.  This engine was considered to be the foremost powerful engine till date.  It accustomed to have an engine of 6 thousand horsepower.  But the Madhepura Rail Engine Factory has doubled the speed of the rattler thanks to the creation of an engine of twice the facility of 12 thousand horsepower.
 in step with the agreement between Indian Railways and also the Alstom company of France, in 11 years under the Indian Railways Make in India, this company will make 800 engines within the country.  within the year 2015, an agreement of Rs 20 thousand crore was in dire straits this.  One engine are going to be manufactured in 2017-18, 4 in 2018-19, 100 engines in 2019-20.  After this, 100 engines are going to be manufactured within the factory per annum from the year 2022.
 in step with Alstom, the factory encompasses a capacity to supply about 120 engines per annum.  within the next 11 years, 800 engines are going to be built here, which can be included within the Indian rail system.  Madhepura Rail Engine Factory will have around 35 engines in 2019-20 and 60 in 2020-21.  After this the factory will make about 100 engines per annum and can complete the target by making 800 rail locomotives in 11 years.  Testing tracks for rail engines have also been in-built this factory.
 The engine made in Madhepura is of 12000 horsepower.  it's an ABB transformer.  this can give the train a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour.  The train encompasses a Knor-Bramsey braking system to handle such a speed.  The productivity of the Eastern Corridor made for freight from this engine is estimated to be twice.  it's being said that the speed of products trains will increase from 60 km / h to 120 km / h.  With this, the speed of heavy goods trains will also increase.  A cargo train with an engine of 12 thousand horsepower are going to be ready to carry 9 thousand plenty of goods.  in step with a railway official, it'll be used for transportation of coal and heavy goods.

 the price of the rail factory project at Madhepura is Rs 1300 crores.  Maintenance depots will also be in-built Saharanpur in state and Nagpur in Maharashtra for maintenance of rail engines.  the typical cost of a rail engine made here is 25-30 crores.  the duvet body for the primary few engines was imported from France.  Later it'll even be made in Madhepura.  in step with Alstom, over 10 thousand people will get jobs from this factory.
